LiDAR surveys of railway infrastructure capture the real geometry of the environment in full detail. WagonFit works directly with point cloud data. The track profile is defined by the user, and the solver calculates the distance from every scanned point to the vehicle swept volume without reducing the data to a simplified profile.

The result is a complete colour map of the surveyed infrastructure, with every point coloured by its distance to the vehicle, from the tightest clearances in red to the most open in blue.
